Upcycling workshop with Sass Tetzlaff Saturday 21st and 28th November

KMR Sewing are pleased to be hosting a course facilitated by the award winning textile artist Sass Tetzlaff.

This will run over 2 consecutive Saturdays, 10-4 on both days and you will learn how to upcycle ANY item of clothing to create something special and unique.

There will be a selection of machines such as Felters, Cover stitchers and Overlockers available on the day, you can bring your own machine or we can lend you one. You will need to provide your own additional notions such as threads, ribbons, zips etc but these can be purchased in the shop downstairs if needed.

The first day will be spent planning and designing, you will need to bring an item of clothing with you (and any thing you have that you would like to add or include in the make) Sass will go over different techniques and options to help with realising your design inspiration so you leave with a clear plan ready to put together the following week (Heads up, depending on the complexity of your design there may be homework!)

On the second day the construction process will begin. Sass will be on hand to help guide you through the tricky bits and provide support and guidance with bringing your ideas to life. The result will be a unique, one of a kind garment and the knowledge not only of how to do it again but inspiration and knowledge of how others have transformed their pieces too.

This class will be kept small to ensure that there is plenty of tutor time for everyone, there will be tea, coffee and biscuits available and Martyn will be on hand should there be any mechanical mishaps (always handy having an on-site mechanic!)
