6-WEEK BASIC PATTERN DRAFTING BODICE AND SLEEVE BLOCK. This 6 week course will run at the studio in Driffield on the dates listed below from 10.00am- 4.00pm.
* Saturdays; 1/3/25, 8/3/25, 15/3/25, 22/3/25, 29/3/25, 5/4/25.
The course is designed for people who want to learn the basic fundamentals of pattern drafting. By the end of this 6-week course you will be able to understand how to alter the shape of patterns to fit and design customised blocks to use as the basis for your own patterns, you will also get a copy of the course handbook.
The timetable for the course will be;
1. Understanding how to take correct measurements and drafting a scale bodice block.
2. Understanding darts and manipulating form to create design using a scale block.
3. Drafting a full-size bodice block and using darts to create a desired form.
4. Making up a toile from the bodice block and checking fit.
5. Drafting a sleeve block and understanding how to manipulate it, to change the style, size and fit.
6. Bringing it all together and drafting a pattern, understanding how to ‘run’ a pattern to check it will all fit together.
7. Designing your own pattern, understanding how to draft it and making it as a toile to check fit.
The total cost of the course is £270.00 The class size will be kept to a maximum of 6 people due to the complexity of the course and to ensure plenty of help is available.
You may, if you wish pay by instalments with the Full balance due two weeks before the course start date. We are asking for a non-refundable deposit of £50.00 now to secure your place. Everything you need will be supplied and spares and supplies will be available to buy throughout the course.

Booking terms and conditions – In the event of a cancellation, because sometimes life gets in the way of sewing!
- If KMR have to cancel a class then we will offer an alternative date or a full refund.
- If you cancel more than 4 weeks in advance we will offer to move your booking or issue a refund (refunds will be made back via the original payment method)
- If you cancel less than 4 weeks before the start of the class we will only be able to offer a refund if it is possible to fill your space.
- Unfortunately there are no refunds for courses that run over several days where you have attended one (or more of the days)
