In addition to the traditional cover stitches, the Primo also excels in exclusive ‘Top Cover Stitches’ that truly stand out. Its innovative Swing Foot features two layers of thread that skillfully position the thread on the fabric, resulting in beautifully curved decorative stitches. The number of needles and covering threads used can be arranged and combined as desired, so that a total of eight different stitch variants are available to choose from – from narrow and delicate to lush and decorative.
The swing foot on the Primo is different from the standard feet found on most cover stitch machines. Since the thread strands pass through the presser foot, the shaft and presser foot are combined into one unit. The result: a wonderfully curved decorative stitch. The number of needles and covering threads used can be combined as desired, so that a total of eight different seam variations are available to choose from – from narrow and delicate to lavish and decorative. Of course, the baby lock Primo masters the complete repertoire of classic cover stitches. The swing foot will operate with either one or two decorative threads, to achieve the Serpentine stitch or the Swing stitch.
The Primo leaves nothing to be desired in terms of user-friendliness and fabric processing. Thanks to the ATD system, a groundbreaking baby lock invention, a flawless seam is always created – regardless of the type of fabric or thread and without any manual readjustment! It is not even necessary for the cover threads. The tedious search for the right thread tension is a thing of the past with baby lock sewing machines.

Wherever sewing takes place, fibers fly. Regular cleaning is essential due to the sewing dust. This prevents large amounts of lint from piling up under the stitch plate and affecting sewing. The side flap on the Primo can be opened, which makes cleaning much easier.
The Primo also has a safety feature. The machine does not sew if the covers are open, or the foot up. This reduces potential sources of error.
